Hatzel & Buehler was chosen as the electrical contractor for Inova’s new 111,000-square-foot Cancer Center. The Inova Schar Cancer Institute at Alexandria will provide comprehensive oncology care, including radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and infusion services.
To meet the demanding reliability standards of a mission-critical healthcare facility, the building was designed with zero tolerance for electrical downtime. This required a fully redundant power system to guarantee continuous operation.
Partnering closely with Inova and Clark Construction during both design and construction, Hatzel & Buehler’s scope of work includes:
- Installation of (1) new 480V normal switchgear assembly
- Installation of (1) new emergency dual-fed 4060V primary switchgear assembly
- Installation of (6) ATS assemblies
- Installation of (18) large distribution panels
- Installation of (100) branch-rated panels
- Complete lighting and lighting control systems
This project underscores Hatzel & Buehler’s expertise in delivering highly complex, mission-ready electrical infrastructure that enables advanced, life-saving healthcare technologies.
