Hatzel & Buehler recently competed a project at the National Aquarium in Baltimore. Completed in partnership with Whiting-Turner, this exceptional project was nominated for a craftsmanship award. Hatzel & Buehler installed the new power and lighting systems extending from the existing facility to the innovative new floating wetlands. This expansive outdoor exhibit features a re-created salt marsh designed to support native wildlife, improve water quality, and withstand extreme conditions. As the first floating wetland of its kind in the world, it serves as a free, educational public space in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.
