Hatzel & Buehler was contracted directly by MedStar Washington Hospital Center to provide a broad range of electrical upgrades and renovations across the campus. This direct partnership reflects our ongoing role as a trusted service provider, supporting both the facility and its end-users with responsive solutions that ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
Key components of the project scope included:
- Cath Lab remodel at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center
- Service upgrades, including retrofit of café/walk-in freezer lighting and electrical hook-ups for new café equipment
- Installation of new critical power panelboards, normal power distribution equipment, and reworking of existing loads to migrate systems to critical power
- Transformer replacements, switchgear meter retrofits/replacements, and motor starter/soft start installations
- VFD replacements, repairs to existing exhaust fans, and cooling tower motor replacements
- Megger testing of motors/feeders and 30-day metering to support upcoming capital projects
- Lighting upgrades throughout stairwells and mechanical rooms
- Fabrication/installation of electronic door strikes and openers, plus air curtain replacements at the loading dock
- Support of electrical construction projects by maintaining active critical loads during panel replacements
