Hatzel & Buehler expands operations to include office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Celebrating 130 years in business, Hatzel & Buehler, Inc., a third generation, family owned business, sets the standard for excellence in electrical construction by leading the industry in safety initiatives, technological advances and well-established customer relationships. With nine operating branch offices throughout New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Ohio, Michigan and West Virginia, Hatzel & Buehler recently expanded their reach to include a tenth office, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. New to the marketplace, Hatzel & Buehler acquired the assets of Franklin Electric – a third generation, family owned Electrical Contracting Company with over 100 years of well-established business throughout Pittsburgh. Hatzel & Buehler will retain Franklin Electric’s staff and have hired Pittsburgh native, James (Jim) Gloekler, to serve as Vice President, Branch Manager, overseeing the local Hatzel & Buehler operations. In 1992, Jim purchased Star Electric Company, becoming the third generation President and Owner of a business started by his grandfather, in 1914. Jim remained at Star Electric through 2013. Leveraging his 30 years of industry experience, Jim will establish the Hatzel & Buehler presence throughout Pittsburgh, while maintaining the customer focused approach, for which Hatzel & Buehler is known. Fred Sargent, another native Pittsburgher and successful member of the Electrical Contracting industry, has also joined the local Hatzel & Buehler team as a well-known industry consultant. Fred worked as a third-generation member of Sargent Electric Company, where he remained for 36 years, before he began his consulting business.

The National Electrical Contractor’s Association (NECA) has recognized the following offices with the 2014 Safety Excellence Award and Zero Injury Award:

ENR Magazine recognizes Hatzel & Buehler in their Top 600

Up two spots from last year, ENR Magazine ranked Hatzel & Buehler 29th among the top Electrical Contractors in the country. Hatzel & Buehler was also ranked 74th among the top Specialty Contractors in the country.

New York Office supports AT&T’s newly installed Distributed Antenna Systems

The Hatzel & Buehler New York office was recently awarded two projects, with long-time customer, AT&T. Hatzel & Buehler electricians are providing the power infrastructure to support newly installed Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), throughout two of AT&T’s midtown Manhattan locations. The power infrastructure includes main service/distribution equipment, a UPS back up, power risers and sub-panels throughout the building, to distribute power to the new AT&T equipment.

New York Office awarded electrical renovation at the United Nations

Hatzel & Buehler’s overall scope of work includes the upgrade of infrastructure, lighting, general power, fire alarm, security, audio visual and data/communication systems, throughout the General Assembly Building at the United Nations. Hatzel & Buehler is also responsible for the restoration of historical lighting and finishes.
