Hatzel & Buehler, Inc., will collaborate on a Design Assist basis with GSK to enhance the design and construction of the new GSK facilities at the Marietta, Pennsylvania site. Hatzel & Buehler will provide expert guidance and support throughout the design process, ensuring that the new state-of-the-art facilities meet GSK’s specifications and standards. This partnership aims to optimize the construction process, integrate advanced technologies, and ensure the facilities can handle the increased production capacity and innovative manufacturing processes planned for the site.
The new facilities will include a state-of-the-art drug substance manufacturing plant and additional drug product manufacturing capabilities. These will be dedicated to producing sterile liquid vaccines and medicines, with a focus on GSK’s novel MAPS technology. The expansion will also feature a cutting-edge R&D pilot plant for clinical trial medicines. The new buildings will incorporate sustainable technologies like solar panels, electric heat generation, and water and energy reclamation systems.
