Fiterman Hall is part of Manhattan Community College’s lower Manhattan campus.  The 15 story, 400,000 square foot building houses a first-floor art gallery, classrooms, computer laboratories, offices, library spaces and assembly rooms. The electrical controls, fire alarms, and security system are fully integrated with each other, and the grand atriums have been specially designed to purge smoke from the building in the event of a fire.

Hatzel & Buehler was contracted to install the Building Management System (BMS) portion of the Integrated Building System.  The work included the installation and wiring of numerous control panels, sensors and other related equipment throughout the facilty for control and monitoring of all HVAC equipment in the building as well as the installation of a dedicated power riser for the control of over 800 fire / smoke dampers within the facility.
