Philadelphia Offices performs electrical renovation for The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia

The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is renovating a 12,000 square foot, single-floor space located within the Seashore House. The newly renovated space will house 10 new patient rooms, patient multipurpose activity and play rooms, nurse’s stations, shared office space and conference rooms. Hatzel & Buehler will furnish and install all electrical work including lighting fixtures with Lutron dimming, color tuning system and DALI, normal and emergency branch power, emergency distribution, Portable Generator Connection box with a 400amp automatic transfer switch, power distribution to new HVAC equipment, wiring of a new fire alarm system and also provide empty pathways for the following systems.

The Voice/Data , Nurse Call, Security, and Audio Visual installations will be completed by Hatzel & Buehler’s low voltage subsidiary, Bluestone Communications.

Philadelphia Office awarded tenant fit-out work for Radian Guaranty

The Philadelphia Office of Hatzel & Buehler was recently awarded the relocation of Radian Guaranty, Inc to 1500 Market Street. The overall scope of the six floor employee relocation project included all new power, gear, lighting, lighting controls, fire alarm, and security.

Hatzel & Buehler awarded work for TEVA Pharmaceuticals

Teva Pharmaceuticals is expanding its research and development operations into a new 33,500 square foot GMP pilot plant. 16,000 square feet of clean room space will be supported by a new central utility plant. Hatzel and Buehler will provide a complete BIM designed project that will consist of a new 4000A electrical distribution with two paralleled 650kW diesel generators for back up. Additional scope of work includes the installation of a 320kW UPS for critical lab loads. The mechanical loads are being fed from a combination of three motor control centers totaling 2800A, with each load being individually controlled. The Labs will consist of a state of the art controls and varying power arrangements to maximize efficiencies.

Ohio office performs work for General Mills in the largest pizza plant in the world

Hatzel & Buehler, Inc. has worked at the General Mills facility, in Wellston, Ohio for the last 5 years. This plant is the largest pizza plant in the world, producing in excess of 1.2 million pizzas per day and 29,000 pizza rolls every minute.  Recently Hatzel & Buehler was the successful bidder on several portions of the new Smithsonian project. This project represents a $66 million investment that will replace aged equipment and streamline the production process. Two Multi-Pack lines, which put 10 pizzas in a case, were installed. In addition, Hatzel & Buehler is working on the complete renovation of two spiral freezers.

New York Office awarded additional work at The United Nations

Hatzel & Buehler was recently awarded the upgrade of power, lighting, telecommunications and security at both freight entrances at the United Nations. Work will be performed on the 48th street and 42nd street side of the main compound, in New York City. Hatzel & Buehler continues to provide on-site electrical support throughout the complex.

Delaware Office receives 2015 Governor’s Safety Award

The Delaware Contractor’s Association recognized the Hatzel & Buehler Delaware office with the 2015 Governor’s Safety Award. This award honors companies that emphasize safety as they bring distinction, skill and integrity to the construction industry.

Michigan Office awarded large tank upgrade at Marathon’s Detroit Refinery

Hatzel & Buehler was recently awarded a major project at the Marathon Detroit Refinery.  Marathon’s business partners have created a high demand for their products resulting in a required upgrade of their tank farm pipeline capabilities.  Hatzel & Buehler has been contracted by Marathon to install a new double ended medium voltage substation to feed upgraded pumps/motors at critical tanks.  The project includes 15kV, 5kV, 600V and instrument cabling and terminations for power feeds and control. The power for the substation is being feed 4,500 feet away with parallel feeder cables in the existing operating refinery from an operating substation.  Hatzel & Buehler will also install new lighting, motor control stations, grounding, instruments and fiber optic cabling for communications.  Hatzel & Buehler’s low-voltage subsidiary, Bluestone Communications, will complete the fiber optic cabling.  With a strict project schedule, Hatzel & Buehler is working closely with Marathon to ensure minimal shutdowns during normal operation.

The Hatzel & Buehler New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Michigan and West Virginia offices all received special recognition from NECA for their excellence in safety. Each office proudly received the “2016 Zero Injury” Award. The Hatzel & Buehler New Jersey and Michigan offices also received NECA’s 2016 “Safety Excellence” Award.

Hatzel & Buehler works as part of Bristol-Myers Squibb’s Research Campus expansion project

Bristol-Myers Squibb is adding 58,000 square feet of new addition / renovation area to its research campus in Pennington, NJ. The project will consist of new laboratories and office space.  Hatzel & Buehler’s scope of work includes providing an expanded electrical distribution system, site lighting, interior lighting, communications infrastructure, cable tray, fire alarm system, security system installation, gas monitoring / alarm system installation, grounding, and power distribution to offices, laboratories and HVAC equipment throughout the project scope area.
