Hatzel & Buehler’s Michigan Branch Office and IBEW Local 58 have volunteered their time to help with Occupy the Corner – Detroit, for the second year in a row. The purpose of this event is to engage the community, connect people to additional resources, and empower residents to be self-determinate with respect to the quality of life in some of Detroit’s most impoverished neighborhoods.
The employees’ day of responsibilities included set-up, distributing meals, line control of the bikes given out, and clean-up. Hatzel & Buehler was awarded a ‘Spirit of Detroit’ award for their contribution to Occupy the Corner.
